Vacuum Breaker Repair Kit

The Legend Valve 108-903 T-550 VACUUM BREAKER REPAIR KIT by Legend Valve includes replacement vacuum breaker parts for Legend brand T-550 and Improved Flow T-550A anti-siphon frost-free sillcocks such as spigots, faucets, hose bibs, and hose valves. These parts are used on sizes ranging from 4" to 14" T550 and T550A models. The main function of this kit is to prevent water from siphoning back into the potable water supply, also known as backflow.

The repair kit consists of 1 stainless steel cap, 1 body (a larger plastic piece with a rubber o-ring), and 1 piston (a smaller plastic piece). The body has a top diameter of 1.25" (1 1/4") and a bottom diameter of .875" (7/8"). It is important to note that the threads are specific to Legend brand sillcocks and will not fit other brands.

To identify your sillcock brand, size, and model number, simply look for markings on the top of the wheel handle. For Legend sillcocks, the size and model number should be visible.

If you are unsure if your outdoor faucet is frost-free, a general rule is to check the knob orientation. A perpendicular knob indicates a frost-free faucet, while a knob at a 45-degree angle does not. If your current vacuum breaker has a black cover, please note that this replacement part may not be compatible.

When assembling the parts, ensure that the flat end of the piston goes up inside the smaller diameter end of the body, with the prongs or teeth facing outward/downward. As you insert the body into the sillcock valve, make sure the prongs/teeth are facing downward towards the valve. Use a wrench to securely tighten the stainless steel cap to avoid any leaks. Check the alignment before finalizing the assembly.
